Jaya Ram 2.0 – Penang and Ipoh
Jaya Ram was Sutra Dance Theatre’s major flagship Odissi production for 2022, the last Triple Frontiers eventually only premiered in 2021 during a brief window breather from the Covid-19 pandemic lockdowns after three postponements. Staging is a totally new and original Odissi production taking in the influences of folk genres both in music and movement of Rama Natakam and Ram Leela, to be able to enrich the present repertoire of Odissi with the myth of Lord Rama, Hero of the Ramayana.
